Duke Energy — parent company of Progress Energy Florida — has announced it will retire the Crystal River nuclear plant. It’s not like this is a big surprise but it’s going to be felt by the whole community for some time. Lost tax revenue and job losses will hit Citrus County pretty hard. Read more here….
